Recommended Books on Parenting
We don't make any money on these books, and they are not about entrepreneurialism or the American Dream. They are just the finest books covering their particular areas of interest; better than anything else out there. In Hey Kidz! we mention you have many other parenting "billiard games" going on besides the one we write of; the growing list of books below represent some of those other "games". We recommend them highly.

Tedd Tripp's Shepherding a Child's Heart is a wonderful book on raising Godly children. It is an unabashedly Christian book, but we're willing to make the statement that you don't have to be a Christian to benefit from the instruction in this book. Addressing behavior at the heart level for lasting change is true for all people, not just Christians. It also discusses the role and authority of parents, which is necessary to orient parents on their responsibilities. An outstanding book.

Lou Priolo's The Heart of Anger tackles an issue that left unmastered can destroy lives. Anger in a child produces gravity that warps every other lesson or hope in life. It almost never "goes away" on it's own, and relationships are destroyed in anger's wake. Lou gives concrete advice and vivid understanding to this issue. This, too, is a Christian book that is is also helpful for non-Christians. Neither Priolo nor Tripp water their Christian message down at all, but truth is truth, and it gets to the root of a dangerous problem. We have seen these books change lives (our own, as well).
